JCU - Saturday 19th *500post Jam*

Hey guys this Saturday I'll be at Jcu ( Douglas ) trying out some stuff i have learnt over the last week. Sessions open to all, so let all your friends know about it

Will be going throught the whole Jcu campus since i have recently found many places 'built' for parkour !

Where: JCU
Time: 11am - 4pm ( could go later )
Meeting at the corner of the building DG258 where the hand rails meet the carpark.

and type in DG258 in the pop-up window in the corner and it'll lead you straight to it


Please stay with the group this time & just be carfull of whose watching as i had to have a hugh talk with the security last time when another tracuer ( not with us ) was there doing roof jumps. Aparts from that train safe and see you all there

nah it's all good, i normally see the security every time i train out there. just do ground level basic stuff when there around and we'll be right

So that saturday trainings are at JCU now? or is it off completley

no he's just saying that he's going there to jam this saturday and anyone's welcome to come. i don't think this'll become a reguar thing.

Not to sure whats going on with saturdays in the mall, Ricky runs those but i haven't heard from him for a while, i go some weeks but hardly go to the mall jams anymore'

Stayed till 3:30pm with ethan doing a bit of training / exploring then just chilled out at the libary.

The security guy wants me to come in next week sometime to have a sit down with the head security and have a talk about what we do while were there and some basic guidelines we follow so that the new guys don't go hurting themselves.

We have had a few talks in the past and he said as long as we keep it how were doing it now and we don't do anything that has a potential for hurting ourselves it should be alright.
Witch should turn out really good as i know a few guys are sick of talking/explaining to the security 'every time' were out jcu training.

But doesnt everything we do include a chance of slipping and hurtin ourselves?

In a way yes, you can hurt yourself standing up or drown in an inch of water.
But i'm pretty sure all he's worried about is us hurting ourselves & destroying property, so if we just do some strength & conditioning and a few simple ground things while there around it'll show them that were just there to workout, do what we have to do & not get in anyone's way and be on our way.

A few guys there don't have any problems with a few of us that train there. But unfortunately the same cannot be said for everyone.
If this comes through for us, it'll relive so much pressure with having to close jams early, not being able to train when certain guards are there and a few other things i'd rather not name. .

Great to maybe get a legit opportunity to train at the University. Just a word of caution Josh, if the head guy says no to you now it will pretty much kill it for everyone... It might in some cases be best not to try for that approval...

Also, getting knocked back on that approval now might make it hard for us to go and get a partnership with them later...

I know but unfortunately the same guy has seen us training a few times and he wants us to go in for a talk now, i'm afraid if we don't turn up it'll ruin our chances.

so yeah it kinda sucks but i have a good feeling about this one.

If anyone wants to come in to help explain feel free to do so !

Might be worth talking to Spidermonkey and inviting him?

Yeah if john wouldn't mind coming in one day for an hour or two i'm sure they would get a very positive message about what we do. Will have to sort all this out at the end of the week though as i'm heading up to mission beach in 9hours.
