Well personally I have alot of different places depending on your vault skill level:
If you are new to parkour and are looking to learn vault i would suggest a rail but if that is still a bit too high and the fear factor comes in, I would get a rubbish bin and practice and practice. But, if your too scared of the fall simply put down a few pillows and blankets on the other side of the bin.
Now If you are fairly confident you can vault and not hurt yourself there are a few good places around town/strand. In the mall there is a random concrete block with wood on top near the fountain, its fairly big and you do a wide variety of vaults on it from different directions. You can also go back to the bins but throw another bin in and start small. You can eventually work your way up to a good 2 meter gap ( I have personally done this XD) and get some major air.
A few good other ones are picnic tables, rails set up on different angles, fences, bins that are along the strand and mall are also good.
So get out there and get some good practice and eventually some great footage!
