YOUTHFEST - Parkour

LCCNQ's DETOUR program will be setting up a large Parkour obstacle course, featuring a variety of challenges in which to practice all of the core Parkour skills, at this years National Youth Week celebrations - YOUTHFEST - in Townsville.

YOUTHFEST is a huge event, aiming to capture the interest of all local youth and record their views on Townsville to be used by the Townsville City Council to shape their 20 year youth plan. The event will be open to all Friday night 6-10pm and Saturday 10am-10pm (16th&17th of April) and the Parkour obstacle course will feature heavily throughout the week with a variety of workshops and classes being run.

Registrations for Parkour workshop time slots will be recorded at the event and a limited number of places will be available so get in quick. Several Parkour DVD's will also be on display on the big screen for those who've had enough training or just want to chill out.

Both nights will also have a carnival feel with live music, rides and other attractions. Buses have been organised to pick up young people on the Saturday from the Upper Ross, Alligator CK and Northern Beaches areas.
